Colby Lamson‑Gordon is a Brooklyn-based artist and musician working across video, image, and sound. Adopted from China to the United States, they examine transracial (dis)placement through imagined memory and imperfect connection to place. They work with experimental image-making, drawing from expanded documentary, archive, and technology to probe longing and lineage, emphasizing process and duration. Their work has been screened and exhibited at Ridgewood Off‑Kilter Film Festival; East Village Film Festival; Residency Unlimited; Snug Harbor Cultural Center; Mannes School of Music; and Gallery ZXY. Forthcoming exhibtions include the 2026 Every Woman Biennial.
They hold an MFA in Design & Technology from Parsons School of Design and a BA in Economics from Barnard College; they received the O’Connor Award for best economic thesis. Lamson-Gordon is a current Season I 2026 artist-in-residence at NARS Foundation, with an upcoming residency at Vermont Studio Center later in 2026. They live in Brooklyn and teach as part‑time faculty at Parsons.
